PTA Quality Rummage Sale, Fair and Silent Auction Coming Soon
Saturday, June 23, 2007

Sounds like work? Well, yes! But this event never fails to bring us new friends and enthusiasts for what we are doing. And each year many of you who live some distance from our home base in Fort Bragg, rally to the cause and produce stacks of the most usable items for us to sell or auction. Always visible on this list are our long-time Berkeley friends Juanita and Joe Neilands. This year their daugter-in-law, Diane Seaborg, has been sorting all kinds of goodies in preparation for a move and we have been the grateful recipients of a generous portion of these items. Diane also donated many treasures for our recent “Feather In The Cap” auction. The highlight of that auction was a four-story Swedish doll house which occupied six boxes, including one exclusively for electrical devices and lighting. Olfa Van Peer was the lucky bidder. After exerting considerable pressure, she finally received permission to withdraw the money from her savings. I think the idea was that she would learn a lot about so many things and have so many possibilities for textile adornments, etc., that it would keep her happy and focused for a long time. There were boxes of household appliances and furniture that had never been opened. A good deal, for sure!

If you have the desire to create your own booth for this sale/fair, let us know. The booth is free and you only need to contribute 10% of your earnings to PTA. There will be a plant booth, a bake sale and all the usual excitement associated with the silent auction. We are now collecting high quality items for both the rummage sale and the silent auction.

The silent auction will come to an end at 2:30 to allow for the logistics of paying for and collecting items. We cannot accept any large appliances or difficult to carry furniture. All clothing must be clean and in good shape. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at this year’s event. It’s always fun and entertaining.
