Braiding: Braiding around Hooking

Braiding around Hooking

Dianne Tobias, Instructor

Workshop Length: 1 ½ days
to be decided by instructor and interested  students

Tuition: $100

Learn a useful finishing technique for your hooked projects!

We will make and attach a braid to frame a small, round hooked piece, providing an attractive finishing technique for hooked pieces.  Additional braided rows can be added and completed with a ‘fancy braided border’ using the same techniques to create a hooked and braided chair pad, trivet or hanging mat.  Complete written instructions are included in the workshop.

Instructor to provide all necessary supplies as part of class cost.  Braiding clamps may be borrowed for the class and bought for around $20.  Students will need to bring a 6-8” round hooked piece to work on and wool for making the complementary braid.  Instructor will have some wool for sale.
