Flamepoint Twill

Diamond Twill

Weave a small to medium size (suggest about two to two and a half foot width) weft faced wool rug or runner in twill structure, such as diamond patterns or flame point, using up to three shuttles/colors. Weaving card woven selvedges (Nancy’s specialty) is an option. Finishing choices will be hem or fringe. Students may continue to weave after the class is over,  but the goal will be to get as near to completion as possible in five days.  Nancy will provide weaving drafts so students can choose a pattern/weave structure, measure warp, and thread accordingly.  Come with per-measured warp chain or arrange to warp a PTArts loom before class or bring a warped loom to save time in class. Nancy specifies 8/5 linen rug warp, available through Eugene Fiber Center and other suppliers. Nancy and PTArts have some linen warp ends without crosses available for sale at a reduced price.  Contact  Nancy@nancykennedydesigns.net or Lolli@mcn.org .

BIO: Rugs have been Nancy’s primary focus from the beginning. Over the years her style has evolved to contemporary designs, mostly woven in Summer and Winter weave structure with shaft switching. In addition to weaving professionally, she teaches, especially at the Ink People Center for the Arts studio in Eureka, CA, as well as workshops around the country.
