List of items students need to bring:Students should bring : metal ruler, cutting surface, artwork on heavyweight paper(if you want), pencil, piercer, bone folder.
Class Description:
Learn sewn bindings that allow heavy weight pages from various materials such as board, wood, metals to be used as single pages rather than folded signatures. Single page coptic, and figure 8 stitch will be taught using boards, foam and shapes to create sculptural or hanging books.
BIO:
Mary-Ellen Campbell creates artist books featuring her poetry and artwork. 18 national/international solo exhibitions and 90 invitational shows. Professor of Art Emerita, New Jersey City University, NJ. where she taught thirty-four years. Fulbright Scholar teaching Book Arts in Thailand. Winner of 13 national/international art residencies. Designer and writer for the anthology, Kid Me Not.
