Class Title: Adventures in Mushroom Dyeing

Materials fee: $100 to be paid by cash or check to the instructor.
If you have your own mushroom dye materials we can deduct that from the materials fee based on weight per oz of mushrooms. The Materials fee covers all the sample skeins that will be scoured and mordanted before the class. All dye materials mushrooms and possibly lichens are included.
Class Description: This will be a hands on dyeing event. Students will work in groups preparing the dye pots. From
grinding the mushrooms to extracting the pigments to dye with. We will be using 4 different mushrooms a
day with 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon session. Each student will be dyeing with 3 different
mordanted 20 gram skeins of wool and a pur silk skein. Every student will be taking home 32 sample
skeins.. after that the dyes can be used with there on fibers or bring containers to take the dyes home.

If students have other suggestions I welcome them and if I there are enough for a dyepot. Providing there are enough, they could be used in the class.
