Class Description: Create a small collaged art quilt on any subject that appeals to you. There are no patterns or prerequisites,
and this class is appropriate (and fun) for all levels of sewing experience. Use a photo of your chosen subject for inspiration, and translate it to an individualized freehand collage of fabrics, trims and embellishments. The elements can be glued, hand sewn or machine sewn together.
Materials List:
*lots of fabric in colors that will work with your project
*batting
*tulle
*scissors that will cut fabric
*LOTS of thin straight pins
*glue sticks if you are planning on gluing your piece together
*threads for sewing
*needles for hand sewing if you are going to do that
*sewing machine (with ALL of it’s pieces and cords) if you are going to machine quilt your piece
*embellishments, novelty fabrics, trims
*dark chocolate to share

I’ve been an art quilter for 30 years, and show my work regularly in quilt shows, galleries and museums across the country. As a retired teacher, it’s the teaching aspect of quilting that brings me the most joy.
