July 19 – Raffia Coil Basket Class with Carrie Botto

Class Description: The repetitive motion of stitching creates a zen like atmosphere.

Students learn how to create a raffia basket from start to finish. Coiling the center, adding raffia, changing colors, ending the basket. In addition I teach a “bridge” stitch .

I supply everything, including a table full of assorted colored raffia, needles , clips and embellishments.

BIO: I am a self taught multi medium weaver. I started weaving with beads 40+ years ago and just keep going. I taught beading in New Mexico for many years and have gone on to facilitate specific classes taught around the county. I enjoy teaching, as seeing the creativity is just so amazing!
