April Sproule - Midnight-Rendesvous 1In this presentation, mixed media textile artist April Sproule offers a comprehensive retrospective and an inspiring look forward. The showcase chronicles her artistic evolution, organized into three distinct chapters:

  • Old Favorites: April revisits favorite milestone projects that helped define her early career, showcasing her intricate art quilts, signature hand-painted textiles, and the patterns of traditional shibori dyeing.
  • Current Work: Dive into her active studio practice, exploring how she pushes the boundaries of modern textile mediums. April details her process of layering delicate hand-stitching, rich painted papers, tactile linen, and translucent silk organza to build complex, organic textures.
  • Projects on the Horizon: Get a sneak peek into the future of Sproule Studios. April shares insights into her evolving artistic vision, featuring upcoming surface design concepts, new printing techniques for both fabric and paper, and her latest explorations into larger-scale mixed media textile collections.
